BEADED BAGS

This page includes several categories of bag types, pipe bags, strike bags, etc. Each type will have an explanation of their use and each illustration will have a description of that particular bag.  Most of these materials date from the mid to late 1800’s.

Great lakes region flat bag, early 1900’s. Red cloth edging is worn.  Bag measures about 7″ x 7″.  These bags were used for carrying shot and lighter materials for starting fires or anything that needed to stay dry.
